Choosing the right boarding kennel:

Here are some helpful links on what to look for in a boarding kennel. It is our desire to help you with questions to ask, clues to look for or just good information.

For further help in choosing the right boarding kennel we would encourage you to check out the American Boarding Kennel Association. The ABKA has a certification process that sets a high standard that can be used to sort through different kennels. Currently we are members but not yet certified. Part of the requirements is how long we have been in business. When we qualify for time we will certainly be applying for certification.

How Does Your Pet Food Rate?

Since we believe in the holistic approach to dog care, we ask that you
provide the food that your dog is used to being on, and, when you are unable to, the food that we serve your dog is the best we can find. At Green Acres we are currently feeding your dog either Canidae or Taste of the Wild. Canidae is a 5 star rated food which has been the top of the line; however, they have introduced a 6 star line now called "Taste of the Wild". We are seriously considering bringing that line on as our primary food. The nutritional information is quite impressive; we encourage you to check it out. This certainly does not mean what we have served in the past is not any good; what it means is that different foods have different qualities and we are seeing some great potential with "Taste of the Wild".
How does your pet food measure up?

Your pet’s health needs

We believe the health of your pet is a priority. Because of this, we
approach your pet’s health from a holistic point of view. We take into
account the environment, daily routine, training and socialization,
hygiene, diet, medical treatment and history, age, activity level and
much more.
When looking for a doctor for your health needs you like to be careful
about who you choose. We believe it is the same for your dog. We
have spoken with many different vets in the area and we truly are blessed
to have some really great animal doctors in town. Here are some VCA
